Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

<p>MarketWise is looking for a talented Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join our BI team. This role will have a direct impact on building a culture of data-driven decision-making where information is timely, accurate, and actionable.</p> <p>The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining multiple aspects of the BI function — from dashboard visualizations to SQL, data modeling, data warehousing, and forecasting. The data analysis and insights our team generates help drive the company’s strategy and operations.<br><br>The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with proven communication and problem-solving skills, expertise in Salesforce data analytics, and experience delivering accurate forecasts and strategic recommendations that support executive decision-making.</p> <p> </p> <h4><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Understand business goals and define, improve, and forecast key metrics that guide strategic decisions</li> <li>Work closely with business and technology teams to translate complex needs into scalable data models, forecasting tools, and analytical frameworks</li> <li>Act as a senior liaison in supporting ongoing production operations, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions</li> <li>Identify and understand source data systems (including Salesforce) and become a subject matter expert on data sources, flows, and analytical capabilities</li> <li>Promote BI best practices across the organization</li> <li>Consult with executive leadership and product teams to automate reporting, build dashboards, and create forecasting models that assess business performance and generate actionable insights</li> <li>Manage ad-hoc requests through independent investigation and clearly communicate complex findings, providing strategic recommendations</li> <li>Work cross-functionally to extract and integrate data components related to customers, sales, marketing, finance, and accounting for intuitive consumption in the data warehouse or as visualizations</li> <li>Explore and recommend technologies and techniques to improve DW/BI, forecasting, and analytics functions</li> <li>Create functional/technical specifications and documentation for complex BI and forecasting solutions</li> <li>Conduct data validation, performance tuning, and facilitate end-user testing on reports, dashboards, forecasts, and analyses</li> <li>Lead data discovery initiatives by exploring and cultivating new data sets and dashboard/forecast solutions</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred</li> <li>7+ years of hands-on BI experience, including data querying, modeling, visualization, and forecasting</li> <li>Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, including executive</li> <li>Expertise in data visualization, forecasting, and advanced analytics</li> <li>Experience in columnar store database concepts (Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or similar)</li> <li>Deep experience working with BI tools (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, Business Objects, Cognos, Microstrategy, SSRS, QlikView)</li> <li>Expertise with Salesforce data and analytics, including integrating Salesforce data into BI workflows</li> <li>Experience with marketing analytics and forecasting a plus</li> <li>Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) a plus</li> <li>Must be proactive, forward-thinking, and able to anticipate business needs and data opportunities</li> </ul> <p> </p> <h4><strong>What We Offer</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Be part of a high-performing, innovative team.</li> <li>Work on exciting projects that allow you to showcase your skills and make a direct impact.</li> <li>A creative, fast-paced environment</li> <li>Competitive salary range between $125,000 - $145,000, commensurate with experience.</li> <li>Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401k match, and 12 paid company holidays.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>This role is remote-eligible, with a preference for candidates in the Mid-Atlantic region and/or within driving/train distance of Baltimore.</p> <p> </p> <h4><strong>About MarketWise</strong></h4> <p>At MarketWise, we thrive on new ideas and the entrepreneurial spirit.
