As a Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and processing claims efficiently while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. You will work with internal colleagues and third parties to navigate the claims process, ensuring application of pertinent policy and assist with status and reviews. Our future colleague. Requirements

  • Experienced in verifying the authenticity and eligibility of claims, communication with clients throughout the claims process, and instructing insured individuals on gathering necessary claim information for submission
  • Skilled in updating and maintaining the agency management system, including claim notes and filing systems, while assisting in the development of internal claim procedures and training clients on these processes
  • Proficient in advocating for reserve reductions on behalf of clients, prepare claim reviews with insurance representatives, and ensure timely follow-up with all parties involved until claims are closed
  • Ability to collaborate with claims team members and internal departments to identify client needs, develop personalized service plans, and ensure effective communication and execution of MMA Midwest’s service strategy, while leveraging insurance knowledge to enhance client relationships and document procedural changes as necessary

Nice-to-haves

  • 1+ year of experience in insurance or claims handling within an agency or insurance carrier
  • BS/BA in Business, Insurance or related field
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
