This includes Disney's media supply chain and storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, network transmission and origination, and more. The global team also plays a critical role as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney's EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams. <br/><br/>The Streaming Disney Entertainment & ESPN Transmission team supports 24/7 monitoring and operational sustainment for Linear and Event streaming products; HULU, ESPN+, and Disney+. <br/><br/>As a member of our 24/7, highly skilled streaming transmission team, you will support critical streaming broadcast systems, oversee and analyzing audio/video transmissions across multiple data centers and ensuring successful management, monitoring, and delivery of live linear and live event broadcast streams, within the IP based transmission ecosystem. You will work with cutting edge technology and be responsible for The Walt Disney Company's most valuable sports and entertainment content airing on our linear and event streaming platforms. <br/><br/>If you are looking for an environment where you will be challenged every day while working in a high-level technical collaborative team, the Streaming Transmission team is the right place to showcase your talents and expertise. <br/><br/><b>Job Summary:</b> <br/><br/><ul><li>Demonstrates an understanding of signal flows, signal measurements, and operational procedures.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Possesses a basic understanding of satellite, fiber, and IP-based transport technologies, including HLS, RTMP, SRT, unicast, and multicast.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Monitors and performs quality control on live event and linear acquisition signals across multiple transport formats (Linear, IP, Fiber, etc.), ensuring signals meet established quality standards and making adjustments to video, audio, and closed captioning as needed.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Performs quality control and corrective actions to maintain and enhance the quality of our products and services.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Collaborates with internal teams and external partners to support the acquisition, monitoring, and distribution of live feeds.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Troubleshoots and resolves day-to-day operational issues to ensure reliable signal delivery and service continuity.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Follows and executes established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workflows for assigned transmission and distribution responsibilities.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Serves as a technical point of contact for internal departments and external partners, helping to support operational needs and communication.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Maintains a basic understanding of streaming technologies and workflows that support products such as ESPN+, Disney+, and Hulu Live.</li></ul><br/><br/><b>Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:</b> <br/><br/><ul><li>Route and monitor multiple audio and video feeds across a variety of transmission and distribution paths.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Quickly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in a fast-paced live production environment.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Remotely configure and support hardware systems used for live event acquisition, distribution, and linear operations.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Continuously build knowledge of emerging technologies, tools, and workflows to support evolving operational needs.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Adhere to company and departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and all applicable policies and guidelines.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Contribute to troubleshooting efforts and problem-solving initiatives that support operational performance and reliability.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Accurately interpret routine operational information and apply that knowledge to day-to-day responsibilities.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Support operations in a 24/7 Technical Operations Center (TOC) environment, maintaining focus and attention to detail in a high-profile setting.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Provide professional, timely, and customer-focused technical support to internal teams and external partners as needed.</li></ul><br/><br/><b>Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:</b> <br/><br/>Basic Qualifications <br/><br/><ul><li>Demonstrates an understanding of digital distribution equipment and technologies used in broadcast transmission environments.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Possesses a basic understanding of IP-based transport protocols and delivery methods, including HLS, RTMP, SRT, unicast, and multicast.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and comfortable using common computer-based tools to support day-to-day responsibilities.</li></ul><br/><br/><ul><li>Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate in a 24/7 technical operations environment and contribute as a developing technical professional.</li></ul><br/><br/>Preferred Qualifications <br/><br/><ul><li>Prior Broadcasting experience, military experience within related fields, or similar transferrable experience.</li></ul><br/><br/>Required Education <br/><br/><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent</li></ul><br/><br/>The hiring range for this position in a remote location is $73,100 to $98,000 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
