Together, we co-create moments that matter – both for our audiences and our employees – and aim to leave a positive mark on culture.</p><p>Sr Live Event Technology Specialist (Streaming Operations Specialist)<br><br>Location:<br>Flexible / Global (based on operational needs)<br><br>Role Overview<br>As a Live Event Technology Specialist, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and end-to-end monitoring of global, Tier 1 live streaming events for Paramount+. This role sits at the heart of live streaming operations, ensuring that live events are delivered reliably, securely, and at the highest quality across global audiences.<br>You will oversee critical components of the live streaming technology stack—from cloud-based acquisition through delivery—while actively monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues in real time, and collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure seamless live event execution and minimizing customer impact.</p> <p> </p> <p>Key Responsibilities<br>● Lead and support 24/7 global live streaming operations for Tier-1 events (sports, entertainment, special broadcasts).<br>● Make real-time operational decisions, coordinate service partners, and guide Live Event Operators during live transmissions.<br>● Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot end-to-end streaming workflows across acquisition, encoding, packaging/origin, CDN distribution, and QoS/QoE monitoring.<br>● Act as the primary operational contact during live events, proactively identifying and resolving issues (latency, buffering, playback failures, degradation etc) and coordinating escalations across engineering, vendors, and network partners.<br>● Collaborate cross-functionally on high-severity incidents, prioritizing rapid mitigation while driving root-cause resolution.<br>● Perform pre-event validation, rehearsals, and post-event reviews to ensure readiness and continuous improvement.<br>● Prepare concise operational and incident reports for stakeholders and senior leadership.<br>● Maintain runbooks, knowledge base, and training documentation to standardize operations.<br>● Support onboarding, testing, and rollout of new streaming technologies, workflows, and vendor solutions.</p> <p>● Ensure compliance with SLAs, security requirements, and broadcast-quality standards, including participation in on-call rotations.</p> <p><br>Required Qualifications<br>● 5+ years of experience in live streaming operations, broadcast operations, or OTT delivery environments<br>● Experience supporting Tier-1 live events with real-time monitoring, incident response, and escalation management.<br>● Hands-on experience operating large-scale live streaming workflows<br>● Ability to troubleshoot end-to-end streaming pipelines across acquisition, encoding, packaging, origin, and distribution layers.<br>● Familiarity with QoS/QoE monitoring tools, playback analytics, and stream performance diagnostics.<br>● Strong incident management, documentation, and communication skills in high-pressure live production environments.<br>● Familiarity with video transport protocols (zixi, SRT, RIST, RTP etc), Video Encoding/Packaging, Basic networking concepts.<br>● Familiarity with DRM, ad insertion (SSAI), and live event redundancy strategies<br>● Proficiency with HLS/DASH streaming, MPEG-TS/fMP4, DRM basics, SCTE-35 signaling, and ad insertion workflows.</p> <p><br>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>● Paramount+ audiences experience consistent, high-quality live streams across all platforms</p> <p> </p><p>Paramount+, a direct-to-consumer digital subscription video on-demand and live streaming service from Paramount Global, combines live sports, breaking news, and a mountain of entertainment.
