Diesel Technician/Mechanic

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including light and heavy trucks, light and heavy trailers, and industrial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our operations and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension components, and other heavy equipment systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and shocks & struts replacement to keep equipment in optimal condition.
  • Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical, electronic and electrical issues efficiently.
  • Fabricate parts or modify existing components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques when necessary.
  • Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment safely and effectively.
  • Assist with assembly and disassembly of equipment during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards.
  • Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all repairs performed for compliance and future reference.

Skills

  • Proven experience working as a Diesel Technician or Mechanic with dealership experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for heavy equipment repair.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools.
  • Ability to perform tire service, brake repair, suspension work, and shocks & struts replacement accurately.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
  • Capable of heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs or inspections.
