HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

ContiTech is seeking a skilled Automation Controls Technician to join our Maintenance team. In this role, you will support the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of automated control systems and industrial equipment that keep our operations running efficiently. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and computer-controlled systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to support a wide range of maintenance and automation activities.

Please Note: This is a technician-level position focused on hands-on execution, troubleshooting, and day-to-day operational support. This role is not an engineering, design, product development, or process engineering position.

YOUR TASKS

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated control systems and related equipment
  • Install, configure, and monitor control systems to support safe and efficient operations
  • Test and calibrate automation systems to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance
  • Diagnose electrical and control system issues and implement effective solutions
  • Provide technical support for automation systems and collaborate with maintenance and production teams
  • Support preventative maintenance activities to minimize downtime and improve system reliability

THE ENVIRONMENT:

  • Fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Work involves standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working around machinery
  • The job is within a non-climate-controlled environment where you will be exposed to temperature swings (hot/cold), forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical training or certification in Industrial Automation
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with PLC and HMI programming; knowledge of Rockwell Studio 5000 v37, CompactLogix, and SafetyLogix preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems, including VFDs, contactors, relays, and control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and use diagnostic tools such as multimeters
  • Support preventative and corrective maintenance activities across the facility
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with 5S and safety expectations

ADDITIONAL WAYS TO STAND OUT:

  • 2+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance
